The following powerpoint lessons are available at minimal costs. All the lessons were set and prepared by the author of the site itself. It is ideal for teachers to use in their class presentations. This is particularly useful to be used by learners in their exam preperations.

Nucleic acids  (DNA, RNA & Protein Synthesis )

Nucleic acids (DNA & RNA) This lesson provides a complete breakdown of ALL aspects of RNA & DNA. It begins with a review section on the cell (Grades 10 - work) then the structure, functions and replication of DNA is explained. The structure and function of RNA is fully addressed. This leads to a discussion volledge of protein synthesis. (160 pages)

This lesson provides a detailed explanation of the structure and functions of chromosomes (review). It deals then the definition of meiosis, containing publication should take place as well as the process. The stage of crossover specially handled. Finally, carefully pointed out the differences between meiosis and mitosis. (70 pages) 

Genetics and heritability 

 This lesson makes one of the most difficult chapters in Life Sciences understandable to every student. This includes a thorough background knowledge about chromosomes and their gametes. There are plenty of attention given to the fusion of gametes and transfer of hereditary properties to the zygote. Mendel's contribution to genetics is fully included. Gene mutations and chromosomal changes are handled as well as genetic disorders and disease. (164 pages)

Human reproduction 

This lesson deals with the human reproductive system in great detail. The production of gametes and mestruation are subdivisions in the lesson. There is also given detailed attention to the development of the zygote up to implantation in the uterus. Gender disorders and disease are also relevant here. (269 pages)

Plant Reproduction

This module deals with plantreproduction in such away that learners will be able to understand the difficult concepts.  It is not an easy lesson and will take time to master properly.
Students underestimate the module and usually lose many points because of it.

Human Endocrine System and Homeostasis

This lesson deals with the endocrine glands, namely the hypothalamus, thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands and gonads completely. All the hormones secreted by the glands, as well as their functions are addressed in detail. The concept of negative feedback between the various glands are graphically described. The section on homeo-stasis in addition are included in the lesson. A comprehen-sive section on thermoregulation in animals is part of this module (81 pages)

Sense organs


 This lesson provides a complete, graphical description of the eye. All anatomic- and physiological aspects are cove-red. The accommodation of the eye is explained visually very good. The path of light followed by the eye, is also discussed in detail. Diseases of the eye, such as farsigh-tedness and nearsightedness are also dealt with.  


This lesson provides a complete breakdown of ALL as-pects of the human ear. All outcomes of the anatomic- and physiological detail is handled. The action in respect of balance and hearing are presented in a visual way. The diseases and disorders of the ear are also addressed.

Nervous system

This lesson is complete in terms of the expected outcomes the human nervous system is concerned. The entire system is cove-red and is very visually explained. This includes the structure and functions every aspect of the spinal cord and the brain. Reflexes and the operation of the reflex arc is fully addressed. The autonomic nervous system is also part of this lesson as well as diseases of the nervous system. (122 pages)
